January/February 2007
The recent ice storm postponed all riding
lessons and many other activities at Cross
Timbers the week of January 12th - 21st.
We have many oustanding riding lessons,
please get with Barb so you can get you
outstanding lessons made up, this week or
next.

When you come to the farm please pay
attention to signs advising different parking
areas.  The hill infront of barn is very
slippery and cars should be parked near the
metal garage on the gravel drive.  Also
please be extremely careful walking as there
is still ice and snow on the ground as well as
alot of mud.

Lesson Cancellation Policy
The lesson cancellation policy has not changed, this is just a reminder.  We currently have a lot more student
and it is very important to be able to get everyone in each week.  Twenty-four (24) hour notice is required to
cancel a lesson without penalty.

Last minute cancellations and no-shows will be charged as a lesson and may not be rescheduled.  Cancelled
lessons should be re-scheduled for the current week.  If unable to makeup a lesson during the week, two
lessons should be scheduled for the following week.

Understanding that emergencies arise, we will allow only two late cancellations per year without penalty.  You
must call to cancel.  Of course, this does not apply to mutually agreed upon cancellations due to weather, etc.

PLEASE CHECK OUR LESSON AND TRAINING PAGE FOR MORE INFO or look in your 2007 Cross Timbers
Handbook.

Lessons generally run 45 minutes.  Lesson packages are offered at a reduced rate in comparison to the
single lesson charge of $35.  Payment for the lesson package is due by the first lesson.  You MUST use all
four lesson in a 30 day period of time.  If you do not receive all of your lessons during the 30 day period of
time, the cost will reverts to the individual lesson fee and the remaining credit will be applied to the following
month only.  No cash refunds.  You may cancel lessons and re-schedule them only during the current month.
You must use a riding lesson package to reserve a specific riding time.  Individually paid for lessons will float,
into available time slots.  If anything above is confusing or if your have a question.  Please call Barb.
Jan 29, 2007, Kentucky Derby winner
Barbaro was euthanized Monday after
complications from his injuries sustained
during last year's Preakness, ending an
eight-month ordeal that prompted an
outpouring of support across the country.

A series of ailments -- including laminitis in
the left rear hoof, an abscess in the right
rear hoof, as well as new laminitis in both
front feet -- proved too much for the gallant
colt. The horse was put down at 10:30 a.m.
