Hey, Hay!
The hay loads are rolling in, the purchase of this 44' trailer has made the transport of this winters hay supply
a little more reasonable. The Governor of Oklahoma has eased the weight restrictions on farm vehicles
pulling hay. Also, $1.99 a gallon for gas has certainly helped too. We have two more loads to go and
should have a 9 month supply on hand. The first 50 bales were trucked in from Kansas, the last 90 bales
are coming from Okemah, OK.
Winston recovering
Winston is well on the road to recovery after his encounter with a
truck in the parking lot. He had a major surgery to repair a torn
abdomen and has a broken pelvis and fibula. Everything is
healing well and he's made a few rare appearances at the barn on
a leash.
Clinton Anderson at Team Roping Championships
Monday October 23rd we attended the
Clinton Anderson Clinic at the OKC Fair
Grounds. He spoke about and
demonstrated several flexing exercises
to help supple your horse. He also
demonstrated control of the shoulders
and the hind quarters. Below, Barb visits
with Clinton and discusses the
similarities of Dressage and Reining.
$100 raised so far...for Double Buy Buy
Some of you may have heard the story of Double Buy
Buy a 7 year old TB gelding with 34 starts and winnings
of $70,000. Both of his ankles have bone chips from
being over raced.
He was dumped at a livestock sale where Cross
Timbers purchased him to keep him from ending up at
the slaughter house.
The Florida Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation
has a agreed to take Double Buy Buy and retire him to
pasture.
But he needs your help, we need to raise about $500 to
cover costs incurred in purchasing him and some of the
cost to get him to the Secretariat Center at the
Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, KY where he can
catch a lift to Florida. Please help us get this guy to
Florida.
You can contact Barb or Scott at the Farm or click the
